Hello,

I'm looking to sign up for your service. However, I know of situations where people have had accounts suspended and canceled with other hosts for using methods such as System.Threading.Thread.Sleep. I'm not saying I want to make a thread sleep for hours and therefore block the .Net worker thread and disrupting service on whatever server I end up on. I'm just asking what are the specifics of your policy for situations like this.

SSL CSR Request

I hava already purchased a SSL Certificate from a different vendor and need the CSR to link it to my hosting plan.

Additionally I read that an unique IP Adress is required, how do I know if the plan I chose (HE-200) has an unique IP or not?

Hi,
We have a website currently hosted at another provider that we want to move to re-invent.
The site has existing email accounts, a website and an SSL certificate that need to be transferred over.

I have 2 questions:
1. From what I have read (and understand), it looks like the DNS will need to be switched over before we can add any of the accounts, because the login to manage email accounts is at a URL such as: http://webmail.domainname.com

If the DNS updates quickly, it minimized the down time of the site, but I wanted to confirm this and that we are unable to add the email accounts until after DNS is switched over.

2. Can you direct me to anything online, in a forum or the knowledge base showing the process to get the SSL certificate setup at the new account with you folks?

I do have access to login and manage via a different hosting account you provide, so if that additional access opens other doors for a tutorial, that is not a problem.

Just Purchased Service - Can't Get it to Work

Don't know where to post this - Purchased hosting plan with ASP 2.0. I am using Microsoft Expressions saving files as *aspx. I have the following settings:

My domain is pointing to:

Name Servers: (Last Update 10/12/2008)

NS2.MICROSOFT2008HOSTING.COM

What is working:

FTP - can upload files
Mail - can send and receive email

What is not working:
Cannot get the web site to work. I see the following when entering in www.NABOE.org

when I enter in http://www.naboe.org.microsoft2008hosting.com or http://naboe.org.microsoft2008hosting.com I get the following:

However, in the sales pages on the main website, there is no mention of PHP5.

Does re-invent.com offer full trust level for asp.net 2.0 hosting ?

We just bought a hosting account from network solutions only to find out that they run on medium trust level which means that URL calling is not permitted.

The site is working absolutely fine but giving an service exception error message when we try to connect to the payment gateway for credit card processing.

The URL/HTTP address we are calling is secure.linkpt.net

IIS "custom errors" tab

Hi there, I have recently purchased an account from you, I was wondering if it is possible for me to set up the custom error pages in IIS (not ASP.NET)

this allows me to use truly friendly urls (asp.net can only rewrite urls etc for pages that have the .aspx extension)

basically i'd set up a 404 page for /default.aspx - then when somebody goes to /news/2008/05/21/ it'll get called and parse the url, call the correct content up.

Can't seem to find a way to do this.

Does re-invent hosting support vBulletin (PHP and mySQL forum software)?

I see that mySQL is supported, but looks like PHP maybe is not. I'm a dot net guy, but I haven't found any .net forum software that has excellent SEO capabilities (such as descriptive URLs). I'd like to use BlogEngine.net for my blog and vBulletin for my forum.

Is this possible on re-invent?

I did not know that I could email support directly so I just waited for hours until the ticket system was back up. It would be really helpful for you guys to post downtime on the calendar or in the forum announcements area so that I could know what's up.

I've been pleased with the quick responses to my support needs and with your service in general. You offer an excellent value which is unmatched in my opinion.

We would only be hosting web at this time, and would need to maintain our exisiting MX and A records pointing to other services. Adding DNS entries with our current provider is a pain at best. GoDaddy has a very nice DNS user domain interface. How do you handle MX, A, etc records when using your DNS servers?

I am in the process of putting a Dotnetnuke site together.

I am looking at hosting packages and I am very interested in your HE-25 package.

I see you charge $15.00 for pointing additional domains to an existing website.

If i take a unique IP address with the HE-25 package surely the there is no need for you do to do any pointing ?

If i have the unique IP then i should be able to just change the DNS settings for my other domains to point to this unique IP?

*I am currently looking to move my business site to another server. I currently have about 3 or 4 domains parked at the same account. Because they are all my business (but just ened to be seperated because they deal with different aspects of my business. The domains are pointed in the one direction. And I simple use ASP to point them into the right folder depending on the dmain used. Can I park multiple domains on one account and how much if any do you charge for it.

*I currently have several clients which if I am happy with your service will be bringing over to your server as well. Do you have partner status or any other type of status for designers who bring in the occasional client?

*Also do you have facility when moving a domain to move it all and test it thoroughly before finalizing the move. As my clients will need a seemless move. Their sites contain many images and database connection as well as secure ordering systems.

I'm not clear on where/how to user user identities for my web app. Do I roll my own SQL db for this or use Active Directory or OpenLDAP? What do you support for this? I want single sign-on for all my apps that I will potentially host w/ you. However, I just need simple LDAP features which makes something like Active Directory way overkill. Ideas?
