I need to execute a query that will potentially delete tens of thousands of rows. I tried it, but it failed because the transaction log got full (that was the error). What can I do about it? Where is the transaction log? Can I execute a query without transaction log recording the results? Thanks.

Hi all, I am running a large scale business and some time I have to transfer large and very important data files to my business partner. I fear about my data because there are many of my business competitors who will definitely try to steal my important data. So there is huge amount of risk involved in sharing my important data on Internet. I recently heard about secure file transfer technique from my friend who is working in well established software company. Does anyone have any idea about what is Secure File Transfer (SFT) service and how does it work?

Cannot connect to "sql2005-3.reinventinc.com" from Management Studio

I cannot connect to database server if using MS Management Studio, but from your web interface I can.

Problem is that we are connected to internet trough proxy (WinProxy) and I cannot figure out what to change on MS Management Studio (Internet options are all set up ,and I can read mail and browse internet)

Ok im new to re-invent and to ms sql please help.

i am editing a setting page on a blog app. and it asks for:

line 40 --> folder_upload = "public" [ general upload directory - make sure that this directory have sufficient permissions to write ]

line 44 --> StrPathShortImage = folder_upload & "/images_upload/" [ images upload directory - make sure that this folder have sufficient permissions to write and remember final slash ! ]

line 48 --> Dir_Image_Upload = "http://www.yourdomain.com/blog/public/images_upload/" [ full address of the image upload folder - remember final slash ! ]

Database has lot of tables, and every table has lot of data in it. Primary and foreign keys are set up, as well as table collation.

Hi Folks, I could use some help if you have time. I have a server on my LAN at home running XP Pro, IIS 5.1, SQL, Server Express, And .Net FX 2.0. I'm trying to get the Web Site Administration Tool to work on the Lan. I'm using the server for testing.

I want to connect in the same manner as the link but connect to my server.

I have my site set up on the remote LAN server and everthing works great. I can set up new users from the Create User Wizard on one of the site pages. The new user can log in and everything works fine.

My current problem is that I can't access the site through the Web Site Administration Tool on my developement computer. I want to access the site to modify roles. users, etc. with the Tool.

When I open the Tool and click on "Security", I get a message Login failed for user ''me" The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

I don't know how to set a User ID and Password on the server for the connection. You have this command in your setup procedure:

aspnet_regsql.exe -S [DB Server Name] -U [DB login] -P [Password] -A all -d [Database name]

Can I use this on SQL Express? I don't know the syntax. Is it like this:

aspnet_regsql.exe -S myServer -U myLogin -P myPword -A all -d apsnetdb.mdf

I have <roleManager enabled="true" /> and <authentication mode="Forms"/> in the web.config and no providers listed in web.config

I cannot connect with various mods of the connectionString.

Can you help me, please?

I'm trying to connect to the database on my account, but no matter what I try, nothing seems to work. I've even completely turned off my Windows firewall, but still - no connect. - I copy my aspx files on my temporary domain name until update

- I create my tables, stored procedure on database InternetOglas on NS1.REINVENTIC.COM

How I do transfer temporary domain name after update on internetoglas.re-invent.com ????

How would I build a form or web part page that automatically uses members information built on my site with web browser, ^{(or a page that registers members and builds their page saving it to several database's of individual parts, as in pictures to picture library, registration info to members info, and users discription's text to some database, field, webpart area or web page)} that builds a individual web page for that member and then save it to a specified folders A - Z????

Example: I need my annoumous users to be able to put a picture, their name and a self discription into a form or web part page using my sharepoint services. Have this information saved in sharepoints database and be able to be linked to. The users built pages can then be automatically linked in order alphabetically by their last names and automatically displayed hyperlinkeds to them in the members list. Viewed by anyone reading the members list.

MS Access Database or SQL

I am sill setting up my site and have read about the limits for an Access database compared to a SQL database.

I know enough about MS Access & ASP to get by, but I have no real experience with SQL and how it uses and or sets up databases. I do have the software "MS SQL Server 2000" I guess I could do some reading and get it setup as a Client, right?

I can only estimate the site hits and use of the database. I just want to make the 1st setup the best one.

What do you suggest? Right now I'm using Access, but have not uploaded a lot of info to it.

What would be the best books or articles to get me going with SQL?
