If you're like me you don't want to keep two versions of the same software on your machine to do the same job. Here's what I found to allow me to access RE-I's 2005 servers with SSMS 2008. Of course you can't run the new SQL commands against a 2005 DB but at least you can get rid of SSS 2005 if all you were doing was keeping it around to work on 2005.
