I am trying to add a custom web part to my site.  To do that I need to add a <SafeControl/> entry to my web.config but it appears I am unable to do so (I have no rights to modify or even read the existing web.config).  Is there a way for me to do this?

Hello,

Yes, this is possible.  SharePoint by default denies access to this critical file.  I see that you did create a support ticket and we granted access for your user to this file.

Thank you
